I try to avoid discussing politics on my channel. It's supposed to be about assessing the games themselves and recommending for or against them based entirely on their own merits and faults, and frankly we're all sick of politics constantly getting shoved in our faces. (cont'd)

@DunedSpirit If the game's inherently political in nature then there's no avoiding discussing the politics presented in it, and I've generally avoided games like that because I don't like talking about politics on my channel. Hell, that's the main reason I haven't reviewed Disco Elysium yet.

@RafaelValor20 Yeah I'm messing with the Game Pass version. The "bruiser" enemies take 2 rifle shots to bring down regardless of where you hit them, so that's probably what you ran into.

@DWTerminator Did you play it on PC Game Pass? I had a bug where an enemy tanked a headshot from a freaking Kar 98, or maybe that's an inherent design choice.

Installed the new Indiana Jones game to mess with later. Start menu entry is in Japanese. Options menu says it fullscreen is a rendering mode but the only choices are windowed and borderless windowed. Weird default controls. Content warning insults the player's intelligence.

@SpiderBaby4Life Nothing I've played that came out in 2024 has been anything close to what I'd consider GotY material. If you want a single game that summarizes how crap the year was though, probably Concord.

Game Awards reveals didn't really inspire much confidence. Awards themselves were a joke as usual, though Elden Ring's DLC being in the running for GotY was particularly idiotic and should be all you need to know how much of a pathetic joke they are.

@RafaelValor20 We'll see how it goes whenever I end up getting around to it. I still need to get around to making videos on the Last Crusade adventure game, Fate of Atlantis, Infernal Machine, Emperor's Tomb, and Staff of Kings as well.

@DWTerminator From what i've seen in the new Indy game, I can see you ripping it to shreds in a funny way. Probably more fun to watch than even playing the game.

@Blacktalon24 Well, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 comes out in February at least. But yeah it's looking like a "catch up on the backlog" year.

Audio for the next review is done. Don't have time to finish up the editing right now but hopefully I'll be able to get it finished up, get the video compiled, and have it go live within the next day or two.

I'll still be doing what I can to avoid discussing politics wherever possible, but for a lot of games the whole mess simply can't be ignored anymore and I'll really have no choice but to talk about the game's politics if I want to give a proper assessment of its quality.

Problem is that's getting increasingly difficult to avoid. Whether it's from ideologue developers or "journalists" trying to push a message, a lot of games these days just get so heavily slathered in political grandstanding to the point where it outright makes the games worse.
