Also, read back and pay attention to when the "everyone should cheer for a Canadian team" stuff really pops in the media. It usually just means Montreal, sometimes Winnipeg. CGY/EDM got that love in 04/06 but EDM not as much the last two years. VAN & TOR usually get disdain.
