Blackness is the default & the norm in Africa, which is why it’s rarely mentioned, it simply IS. That’s something you’ll never fully understand, and I get it, unlike Africans, you weren’t born in a country where blackness is the everyday norm. In Africa, all we see is black, everyone around us is black, blackness is so abundant that it becomes a kind of blind spot for us. Something that is the everyday reality does not get highlighted often. In Africa, we don't say 'black' musician, 'black' author, 'black' artist, 'black' doctor, etc; because blackness is the unquestioned norm.
