It’s not “ahistorical” because the film never claimed to chronicle the entire history of the period in the first place. It’s telling a specific story within that period. It is not a documentary.

I think it's slightly worse than this now, because it's not "Doesn't make sense to me" it's literally just "I have decided your facts aren't true." Something can happen right in front of them and they will simply *decide* objective reality conforms to their ideological POV.

It’s really bizarre how much cruelty comes from just not understanding anything beyond the fifth grade. Like you can show all the science and historical anthropological evidence for something, and they’ll just go “nah. Doesn’t make sense to me. Die.”
