I recently had a shift in perspective for #TheHobby. @CardPurchaser - this is long but only tagging you to reach more people that might agree with this perspective. I remember as a kid, I collected cards of players I loved, the teams I loved and my favorite MLB 2k home run derby players (lol). Back then it was simple - I collected who I loved, who I watched on TV and who were my “heroes”. Didn’t care about autos, #’d or even parallels, heck I would sleeve a base card of R.A. Dickey. Fast forward- there was a 20+ year gap before I got back in to the Hobby. The love for collecting was spoiled by the motive of “chasing” cards that were valuable and would make money. It created a cycle for me of never ending flips. I never had the time to fully put into making these flips or making any sort of money out of it. There is nothing wrong with this side of the hobby. It just doesn’t fulfill me and I don’t have the time anymore. Recently, the idea of getting back to collecting a true “PC” of memorabilia, bobble heads, flags, unique items to the teams I grew up loving, current players I genuinely love watching or have followed since their early days has resurfaced. Something I could be proud of, show off to my future kids and never have the “itch” to sell. The love for collecting began with my love of sports, not for the $ but simply for the love of the game. The flips are still there, but not the main focus. #TheHobby has come full circle for me.

Major League Baseball is aired in the morning for Japan. So technically they eat breakfast with it being on television. Here’s their #openingday commercial. No hyperbole, when I say this, it might be greater than any US MLB commercial I’ve seen. Well done and worth the watch for any baseball fan.

@MrKdub I just go see my friends at the shows now. Local show was sold out no one could get in. Only way to get in was with a vendor. Build relationships and do right by people. They will do right by you

Do people ever just talk about cards at a card show anymore? Or is it just comps/buying/selling ??? FYI, I know the answer is "yes," but the only "hobby content" we see is just so focused around it...

eBay fucking sucks. I sold a Cooper Flagg Refractor for $176.50 and it says delivered but the buyer claims he never got it. eBay just issued a full refund, but I also will not receive my card back. This is the biggest load of bullshit ever.
