@DaDogGod @BlarbieUSA @00Keloo That’s what I would do. The IRS gives you guidelines for what each item is worth. When I first started about 10 yrs ago, one shelter would give a blank slip, I could fill in the value. Maybe that was a one off. All others just put the number of each item

@papaGemini @BlarbieUSA @00Keloo You’re supposed to assess the value of the items. Nonprofits aren’t allowed to do that and I don’t remember that ever being a thing in the two+ decades I’ve worked with and for nonprofits.

@BlarbieUSA @00Keloo She’s not lying. I’ve donated thousands items over the years. A lot of shelters will give you donation receipt that says the number of items donated but many no longer put a value $$ of the items. The value letter is what ppl are looking for so they can easily write it off.
