Today, we remember every victim and stand with their families, and all the nations that lost their loved ones on that tragic day. The downing of MH17 was nothing but a terrorist act. Russia has made such terror against civilians a defining feature of its policy – toward its neighbors, the world more broadly, and even its own people. It is important to ensure that the world doesn’t turn a blind eye and that for every Russian crime – both against Ukrainians and against other people – there is justice and accountability.

@JohannaNyman5 The sabotage to EU started when we designated Russia as a threat back in the 2000’s, when non democratically elected EU Commission got the power to impose their policies, when economic union became dependence on subsidies. I believe in a united Europe, but not in these terms.

Whether you’re for or against a more federal Europe, we should all recognize that the current system isn’t working. Bulgaria’s and Greece’s vetoes of sanctions against Russia are the latest examples of sabotage of European security. Abolish the national veto and replace it with qualified majority voting (a supermajority) on foreign and defense policy.

Greece is blocking the EU's 21st sanctions package. Key sticking point is a proposed ban on transporting russian LNG to third countries. This would hurt Dynagas, a major Greek LNG carrier fleet. My country Finland, as a russia's neighbor suffered too but did the right thing. 🤷
