Friends, I have very exciting news! The lease for my bookstore space, which I’ve been negotiating for months, has been approved! I cried when I found out…it feels surreal. The space and location are absolutely perfect, now the work to get it ready, which I have 4 months to do. Can’t wait to share progress pictures and a website with you! OK, so I'm sitting here, totally hammered, smoking a cigar, and enjoying life. Some of you might be saying to yourself, "Intoxicated!?! How undisciplined!" Well, here's a little secret: I enjoy life. There was a time, maybe 20 years ago, where I had everything figured out. I had my career all planned out. I was going to move into management, make good money, and be happy. Well, Life had other plans. At one point, I was down in my knees, praying to God and giving it all up to Him. Misfortune had struck, and struck deep. I told God that I was giving all of my ambitions up and letting him take the reigns. It was the best decision I ever made. Life was hard and frustrating afterwards. I took what was handed to me. But I cannot say the life was worse. In fact, it was better. The jobs that came my way were better, and more fulfilling that they were before. And now, at the sunset of my career, I not only have one career of which I can be proud, but I embark on another - just as fulfilling - ahead of me, that I also love: being an author. I love beer. I like cigars. At some point, this ride will end, and I'll be resting in my grave. The future of my children has been seeded. They know what they love, and they will pursue their passions as I have mine. I have a wife that loves me, I am confident she will be secure when I pass. Life has been a ride with ups and downs that, in the end, have been worth the ride. God has blessed me in more ways than I can count. From that moment on, after I submitted my like to His will, I have been more fulfilled than I ever was before. Some of the best times in my life followed after that decision. Some people believe there is no God. I am not one of them. Life is a gift. It is a gift that needs to be shared and appreciated. It's not something that needs to be blithely ignored or hated. There will always be ups and downs -these are things that cannot be avoided. But when that rollercoaster is straining to go up hill, be assured that what is to follow is a ride that you'll remember until the end of your days. I don't know what the future holds for me. Faith tells me that each day will be better than the last. Live for the day. Let the future take care of itself. Submit to the Father, and you can sleep assured that tomorrow holds a promise of greater things. Death comes to all of us in time. Don't waste what you have on something that, in the end, offers nothing to your heart. That's it. That's all I wanted to say.

Maybe I am neurotic, because I've also thought about retirement and how to have passive income and how to set aside money for each child we have for their future marriages.

@farmingandJesus Great question! My Beyond Chiliastic series is based on a prior Pangea, and then a future Pangea when the continents come back together, based on a loose interpretation of the sixth seal in Rev (and other verses). It was fun to research, and I’m enjoying reading the comments!

Do you believe the Pangea story? That the land on earth was all connected then it separated into land masses we now call countries ?
