My beloved Oregon Ducks (Men) are not in the Tourney, so I didn't do a bracket in solidarity with them.

Behind The Scenes Update: Just a glimpse into “OldManStyleCards”. Our house is less than 2000 sq feet and my wife gave me half the inside of our closet. It’s controlled chaos, but it’s my nostalgic heaven. Still building it out, walls, shelves, etc…(those are empty wax boxes),

What is the one card in your collection that you would never sell no matter what someone offered you. Not your most expensive card but the one with the most meaning behind it. Could be a pull from your first pack or something your kid gave you or a card you chased for years. Drop it below

The hardest part of the hobby is not buying cards. It is explaining to your wife why the mailman shows up every single day with another package that is definitely the last one for a while.

A 9 on an auto numbered to 25 is a really solid grade and holding long term on a low numbered prospect card is usually the right call. The cost to grade is already covered and now you just let time do the work. If he develops the way people are hoping that card is going to be one of those pieces you look back on and feel great about sitting on. Patience pays off more often than not with cards like this

This just popped, graded a 9. Think I'm going to hold long term. What does the hobby think for a card like this? @CardPurchaser 😬

The art on that card is absolutely wild and the fact that it is still sitting at a price point where you can grab one without breaking the bank is part of what makes it such a good pickup right now. Some cards just have that look where you know they are going to be worth more down the road once people catch on. Undervalued is the perfect word for it because that slab belongs in every serious collection

Hitting 10k on sealed is a serious milestone and the fact that it keeps climbing shows you have been making smart picks on what to hold. Sealed Pokemon has been one of the best long term plays in the hobby for years now and the people who had the patience to sit on product instead of ripping everything are the ones who really came out ahead. Whether it crosses this week or not the trajectory is clearly going the right way

Your first auto being a Travis Hunter is an incredible way to start. That is one of the most hyped rookies to come into the league in a while and having his autograph card from your very first pull is the kind of thing that gets you hooked on the hobby for good. A loaded box on top of it just makes it even better. The bar is set pretty high now for your next rip though so good luck topping that one

A BGS 9.5 Aaron Judge Topps Archives RC auto numbered 99 out of 99 matching his jersey number is basically a perfect card. The fact that you pulled it yourself his rookie year and held onto it all this time makes it even better because that is a real collector move. So many people would have flipped that immediately but you held it and now it has a story behind it that makes it worth way more than whatever the comp says. That jersey number match on a card like this is the kind of thing you could not script

I love this card for many reasons…one because i love watching him crush HR;s especially in the WBC. Pulled this his Rookie year, had it since then, got it graded and couldn’t believe it did so well as a smaller sized card! AND, the best part, it’s a jersey Number 99/99. #AllRise Let’s go U.S.!!

This is the right mindset and honestly the one that keeps people in the hobby long term. Not every box is going to have a monster hit but the experience of cracking packs and sorting through the cards is what makes it fun in the first place. Too many people only measure a rip by what they can sell and they miss out on the whole point of collecting. Rip days really are always a good day regardless of what comes out

That is the hobby rewarding you for celebrating the right way. Grabbing a pack to mark the moment and then pulling a numbered Gunnar Henderson out of it on the first try is the kind of thing that makes you believe the card gods are paying attention. Gunnar has been an absolute monster too so that card is only going to look better as the season goes on. After almost 40 years in the hobby you probably knew it was coming the second you cracked it open

Pulling your own Jordan from a box you bought at an LCS is one of those hobby moments that just hits different. You can buy one online any day of the week but there is something about ripping it out of a pack yourself that makes it feel completely different. That is the kind of card you remember exactly where you were when you pulled it. Great box and congrats on making that childhood dream happen

There is no such thing as too many Bobby Witt Jr cards in the PC. The guy is on a completely different level and the way he has been playing makes every single card feel like a steal no matter when you bought it. Rooting hard for him and the boys to bring the gold home too because watching him rep the USA on that stage would be something special. Keep stacking those Witt cards

When a card has that kind of image quality where you just stop and stare at it for a second before you even think about the player or the value you know it belongs in the PC. Some cards just have that look where the photo and the design come together perfectly and those are the ones you never end up letting go of no matter what. Nice addition

Stadium Club is one of the most underrated products out there. The photography on those cards is on a completely different level compared to everything else and they just look incredible spread out on a table like that. Bobby Witt Jr in the Stadium Club style is a perfect match too because his swing is basically made for that kind of photography. Love that you ripped it with your son and then immediately went back for a blaster because that is exactly how it goes once you start pulling clean cards out of a box

That is not a little collection that is a full on stockpile. The variety in there is impressive too with the older Mega Evolution stuff sitting next to the newer Ascended Heroes product. If you are looking for the best rip experience out of that bunch I would go with an Ascended Heroes ETB first because the pull rates have been pretty solid and it is a fun set to open. But honestly with that much product in front of you there is no wrong answer just start tearing into them
