Depends what you believe about Bubic. 1) is he going to become anything better than a mid-rotation arm (I say no). 2) is he going to be extended beyond 2026? (Also no, imo) With depth and those things in mind, his value is close to peak and he’s gone after 2026. Capitalize now.

@JohnyJ_15 I was just going off baseball savant range. Was in 3rd percentile in 2024. If we get half of his offensive production in 23/24 would still be an upgrade.

Kind’ve comes down to how much stock you put in 39 G. He’s not an elite defender, but I probably jumped the gun on saying he’s a good defender. Good arm. FWIW, he was a Gold Glove finalist in ‘23. Career OPS north of .800 against lefties, which is what they need. #Royals

You might remember Lane Thomas for his grand slam off Skubal in the 2024 ALDS. Only played in 39 games last year, but slashed .237/.309/.400 with an OPS+ of 100 in 130 games in 2024. Good defender who can play all three OF spots. #Royals

Very confident resigning those two would not prevent the #Royals from getting their everyday outfield bat. That is the No. 1 priority. Depth, however, is very important too.
