I've been pretty quiet for a while now, with a lot of things on my mind keeping me from engaging with this side of life. I know these are hard times for many people, though, and I'm going to try and be more active and available, both here and on 🟦☁️.

@nosebleedcat That's absolutely precious if someone else is changing you and a recipe for extra laundry if you're changing yourself.

@nosebleedcat Petting someone and calling them a good kitty after they were very brave for a change is always rewarding. And it's nice to not have every exchange be viewed through the lense of someone wanting to get off.

@nosebleedcat Part of it is that the community was so small that it was harder for folks to differentiate their interests. It was binary, either you had a small side or didn't. Once people could be more open about their 'real age', they could start expressing a spectrum of identify.

@poofylep I've definitely had strangers ask. And depending on the environment, it can be fine to ask. That said, these rules apple even to folks you already know, and no matter what, there has to be a first time getting a change from someone.

@DaddySnowKitty I was always under the impression that diaper changes were planned via texting beforehand or in person amongst close friends. I feel the likelihood of a cub going up to a caregiver they've never met will result in a no most of the time. Unless someone's experienced otherwise!

I've been asked many times how to request a diaper change, so here are a few good rules to follow. 1. Be Polite. 2. Be hygienic. 3. Be open about why you need a change. 4. Be prepared for someone to say no. 5. Say thanks afterwards! And above all else, adults only! 1/🧵

Tip for Littles: You may have a different vibe in headspace alone versus with others, and that's fine! Find the energy that you're comfortable with in any given environment. If you'd rather go full baby with just a caretaker, but be a "big kid" with friends, that's totally valid.
