There are a few companies I would love to help improve their #DataGovernance including my favourite plant retailer who yesterday delivered a plant to my door at 9am & sent an email at 3.30pm to say that my plant had been dispatched & would arrive in the next few days!

@chrisvonsimson @brianglett I think you'll see a different spread of answers depending on the project type... in some cases you may see smaller firms used on data (AI, DS, AA) but larger firms on ERPs for example #BIWisdom

Here's my favorite chart for today; I hope it spurs a lot of discussion. By utilization "rate," the numbers for the "constantly" response stand out to me. Roughly 20%-25% of these types of #BI and analytics activities are handled by #SIs and #consultants. Surprising, #BIWisdom ?

@DocKevinElder @brianglett Often it will depend on what the client is willing to spend on the consulting services as well. Everyone needs to make a profit so you place some juniors and have the seniors do the mentoring, coaching etc... #BIWisdom

@DadounDavid @brianglett This is what I have been seeing. But the reality is my kids fresh out of college are doing the majority of the work not the experts that were hired. #BIWisdom

@brianglett However those are not the right reasons for it. How many times have we seen "consultants" at the same client for 10 years... This is no longer a situation where we go look for skills that are rare on the market. #BIWisdom

@DadounDavid Agree @DadounDavid I've also seen hiring freezes & eliminated positions "replaced" (somewhat temporarily) by #SIs & #consultants because of available funding buckets &where the expenses landed in the financials. Probably a factor in some of the perceived importance #BIWisdom
