Advocates for Trauma-Informed Care is hosting our hybrid seminar on what you can do as a healthcare provider to support survivors who are a part of the Deaf community. We will showcase community resource DWAVE (Deaf World Against Violence Everywhere) @OhioStateMed @OSUWexMed

So screening unfortunately isn’t easy, but there are so many resources to help us out! Save this comprehensive one from the administration for children & families the next time you need help taking a history from someone who may be experiencing trafficking

When getting more specific, it’s not best to ask “have you been raped?” or “are you being trafficked?” Overwhelmingly survivors who are in an active situation don’t identify with these terms.

Last week I attended an awesome lecture put on @OhioStateMed by @Jace_Greenwald and @mackey_alfonso on sex trafficking. The survivor speaker had me thinking a lot about missed opportunities for screening early #traumainformed
