DeKalb city leaders discussed the issue of homelessness Monday during the City Council meeting at the DeKalb Public Library. A first reading of a proposed ordinance prohibiting public camping was removed from the agenda to allow for more consideration.

The Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District will discontinue its sanitary sewer connection fee waiver and reinstate the fee starting Jan. 1, according to an announcement. The current single-family home fee is $2,100.
