Lost and Hound from @DaisyAleSounds is an adventure puzzle game where you play as a scent-tracking rescue dogs, Corgi and Biscuit. PEGI 7 and ESRB TEEN. It's a single-player Adventure-Narrative-Puzzle game for PC and Switch, out now. taminggaming.com/game/Lost+and+…

It's been years since I had to give up playing Street Fighter due to the progression of my disability and the inputs complexity. Now, thanks to the accessibility features, I'm back in the fight! 😤👊

@LadieAuPair @TheSlasherChick @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom Absolutely. Thanks for your wisdom in this discussion!
English

@daisyalesounds @TheSlasherChick @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom No worries!
I think there number of games with content warnings are lower than it should be.
I’m sure Grant thinks the number of games with single stick controls are lower than it should be.
We’re all in this together and should boost each others messages and needs!
English

Accessibility is usually divided into three categories: mobility, auditory, and visual. But players with mental health disabilities have often found themselves left out of those innovations. That’s beginning to change. Read my latest @inversedotcom here:

English

@LadieAuPair @TheSlasherChick @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom Sorry I didn't mean to discredit any work being done by accessibility teams. I just meant to say the amount of truly blind accessible games is lower than it should be, that's all. I didn't intend to have such a predatory or dismissive tone to my statement earlier.
English

@daisyalesounds @TheSlasherChick @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom Not blind accessible yet but more accessible than it was at launch & work continues! Listed it to show investment is there.
& lots of things have been added, clicks when wheel is centered, noises when you skeletons in sights, birds over ship wrecks, water noises for rocks & more
English

@LadieAuPair @TheSlasherChick @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom Same with God of War 2, it's a great game and has amazing measures taken. But it isn't fully blind accessible.
English

@LadieAuPair @TheSlasherChick @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom Yeah I'm a fan of those talks, and I love the accessibility measures being taken.
Sea of Thieves is a favourite of mine, and despite measures like narrated compasses, it isn't classified as blind-accessible. Not a slight against the game! But it isn't there and might never be.
English

@TheSlasherChick @LadieAuPair @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom Absolutely, and again I think that's why I'm feeling weird about this, my vision is far too focused in one area for me to have objectivity at the moment. Thanks for your help.
English

@TheSlasherChick @LadieAuPair @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom worry that things will worsen when including *more criteria* inside of this already largely ignored condition & what makes a disabled gamer. But like you say & I agree, it's possible to have the opposite effect: more advocacy, more noise & more awareness. Thanks for your wisdom!
English

@TheSlasherChick @LadieAuPair @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom and as such I think I'm a bit too focused in on blindness as a disability. From my perspective, the world is doing virtually nothing to further include blind people in gaming with the exception of games like mine, Hearthstone and the recent Forza accommodations, I can't help but
English

@ActiveB1t @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom To be clear, those aren't my words. I was directly quoting a specific study done by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
English

@LadieAuPair @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom I just want to be clear, I was never against accommodations and it's been said by others here that I am, and I've been painted as not supportive of good mental health. It's not the case. I was only worrying about the shared classification.
Thanks for your insight!
English

@daisyalesounds @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom In some cases, I don't think you can avoid having something that might trigger someone, which is why things like content warnings are key. I can avoid rather than have an episode.
But work can be done for a lot of common triggers/phobias, again like in the article
English

@LadieAuPair @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom I agree with all of this. How would a game design team design a game that avoids triggering a PTSD flashback in every player?
English

@daisyalesounds @Super_Crip1994 @inversedotcom I wouldn't classify this as a "bad experience," I would classify it as a blocker.
And that's what can happen if a game triggers a severe PTSD flashback episode.
If someone has nausea for two days, are they really "able" to play the game?
English

@Super_Crip1994 @LadieAuPair That's condescending :(
Anyway I wish you well.
English

@daisyalesounds @LadieAuPair Sounds fair. I hope you are able to learn from this
English

@Super_Crip1994 @LadieAuPair Did you also see the part where I said I believe I might be wrong? Convenient to leave that out.
I'm seeking wisdom.
This isn't going anyplace good. We should both take some time to relax I think.
English

@daisyalesounds @LadieAuPair And I apologize if I'm coming off as hot, but I truly just don't understand the debate here? I even saw you quote tweet my article asking other disabled people to weigh in on the matter that has proven research and case studies.
English

@Super_Crip1994 @LadieAuPair Yes. And yet, lacking from your quote are the words "more important" and "accommodations."
That's important. You should care about that.
English

@daisyalesounds @LadieAuPair "but aren't you concerned we are paving over the disabled community when we now include those suffering from mental health struggles under the term "disabled?" These words are saying you don't consider mental health a disability.
English

@Super_Crip1994 @LadieAuPair When did I say, and I'm quoting you, "more important?"
You're coming in hot here, especially because I've said multiple times I hadn't considered points Tara brought up and I need time to reflect.
A note: not once did I say mental health didn't deserve accommodations. Not once.
English

@daisyalesounds @LadieAuPair This isn't up for a debate. Someone with mental health disabilities is actively telling you they are important and necessary and you keep trying to have a debate about it. There isn't a debate. Mental health disabilities are disabilities and deserve accessibility settings
English

@Super_Crip1994 @LadieAuPair If this is directed at me, please let me know which phrase led you to believe that I think this.
If you can't, please delete this tweet because I have a problem with anyone saying that I believe some disabilities are more important than others. Especially because I never said it
English

@LadieAuPair @daisyalesounds When you start saying one form of accessibility is not as important, you're basically pitting disabled people against one another. Each has its own merits. And mental health accessibility is ABSOLUTELY considered accessibility. We can't deny invisible disabilities
