Grateful for a Transformative Experience at Oxford!
I recently had the honour of completing a Programme on Negotiation at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. It was an intense, mind-opening experience that sharpened my leadership and negotiation skills—tools I consider vital as a Changemaker.
From challenging simulations to global peer learning, the programme deepened my ability to drive consensus, navigate complexity, and lead with empathy.
I walk away with not just new tools, but a stronger conviction to build consensus, lead with integrity, and negotiate for outcomes that deliver lasting impact.
Profound thanks to our world-class faculty: Tim Cullen, Paul Fisher, and Owen Darbishire, and all the exceptional facilitators, and also to my inspiring cohort of 40+ leaders from around the world who made the experience so rewarding.

Building An Inclusive Ghana: Action Beyond Awareness
To further strengthen support systems in Ghana, all early childhood development centers and basic schools should be mandated to have a teacher specifically trained in autism to provide tailored assistance to children on the spectrum. To ensure that essential interventions are affordable for parents, a key recommendation is for the National Health Insurance Scheme to absorb a significant percentage of the costs associated with speech, occupational and behavorial therapy.
Furthermore, institutions should actively promote inclusive workplaces by employing neurodivergent individuals in mainstream roles.
As we draw the curtain on Autism awareness month let us all reaffirm our commitment to building a society where individuals with autism live without fear of exploitation, free from judgment and discrimination, and are fully included with the necessary support to thrive and realise their full potential.

It was an honor to interact with Rev. Prof. Joseph Osafo - Director, Centre for Ageing Studies, Prof. Christopher Charles Mate-Kole - Founding Director, Centre for Ageing Studies and Prof. Joseph Awetori Yaro - Provost, College of Humanities, University of Ghana, at the "Project 100 Wheelchairs for Older Persons" event.
Our discussions on the Ageing Bill and ways to enhance the lives of older persons were truly insightful.
Congratulations, Rev. Prof. Joseph Osafo, for spearheading this commendable initiative. I look forward to participating in future projects that support and empower our ageing community.

Gender Equity In Sports — The story of Ghana's first female world boxing champion
Abigail Kwartekaa Quartey made history on November 24, 2024, becoming the first Ghanaian woman to win a world boxing championship. She defeated Sangeeta Birdie (UK) in the World Super Bantamweight division at Bukom Boxing Arena.
Quartey's victory significantly advances women empowerment and gender equity in Ghana, highlighting the need for government support of women in sports. I urge the government to prioritize the implementation of the Affirmative Action Act, 2024, as it is expected to expand opportunities for women in sports and other disciplines.
Congratulations once again to Abigail Quartey for etching your name in the annals of history and well done Mubarak Haruna for putting together such a great story.
