After a productive @DalesValeRN meeting this morning, explored spawning potential for @YorkshireWater reservoir to support a wild #trout population. Hopefully some eggs baking low & slow. Winter #wildfowl a constant accompaniment...

Dear councils, please support the push to restore at least 30% of nature by 2030. Easy win: prioritise biodiversity over non-essential mowing, and don't spray or use plastic grass. Let's give wildflowers and pollinating insects (and ourselves) a chance 🐝

Trees keep things cool! 🌡️ As well as absorbing water, trees also release it as water vapour through evapotranspiration from their leaves, which produces a cooling effect. They also provide shade for the ground and buildings, resulting in further cooling and less energy usage😊

Otter spraints (the posh name for Otter poo!) found on the River Mersey last week. Otters are apex predators and indicators of healthy habitat. Otters are hard to spot so searching for spraint is a good way to survey for them. #GMGreenCity @GMGreenCity @natural_course
