Mariga has written to the Safaricom CEO seeking to stop the launch of Chapa Dimba na Safaricom season 5.
“The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) wishes to clarify that any agreement or partnership arrangement undertaken without the approval of the NEC is null, irregular, and contrary to the provisions of the FKF Constitution, which vests oversight and decision-making authority on all strategic, financial, and partnership matters in the NEC.”
I understand Safaricom invests over Ksh400m in this project with Ksh50m going to FKF. Once the boardroom fights reach the sponsors that doesn't look good at all.
Yesterday Mariga wrote to the head of FKF Secretariat seeking all documents and records pertaining this tournament.
(Last week the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) granted a temporary order of injunction restraining Mariga, Robert Macharia and 10 others from effecting the entire FKF NEC Resolutions as passed until the Mention date- May 5, 2026 (today).)
