Throughout the first day at #AWE2022 glTF is just the assumed 3D file format.

Perhaps you send too many emails when one goes out with the subject "Replace this with a real subject line". This was from a real message from LinkedIn.

@ladrupal Unable to get the meeting URL from meetup. Says it can't complete the request.

@mlimper_cg I agree. The complaint is that current glTF is not efficient for low-bandwidth networks. I am wondering how many high-powered devices run on low-bandwidth networks? I would be open to a format above glTF that handles fancier formats.

Isn't adding implicit surfaces to glTF a bit like adding SVG support to JPEG? Doesn't feel right to me, cause we may end up like X3D / COLLADA: can do everything, but not many users in practice. Open to discuss, ofc

Watching Tony Parisi at #awe2019. He asked how many people know about dial-up modems. About 1/2 the audience responded.

@robinrendle But it is possible to be one. You had to start in the 90's or early 2000's to have a full working knowledge of the history and current use + server-side. These people are 50+ and not thought to be valuable anymore.
