Just in: You're 15 minutes out of Hobby Airport, Houston to Atlanta and some guy first started wailing on people's heads, landed three solid punches on one man's skull, then turned on women and children. Then he bolts for the cockpit, tries to force his way in screaming he needs to "speak to the pilot," the kind of nightmare scenario you watch in thrillers. But here's where the heroes show up: other passengers and crew wrestle him down, cuff him right there in the aisle. Delta later clarified he never actually accessed the flight deck, thank God, but the attempt was enough. Houston police detained him at Gate 32.
