No hubo fiestas de cumpleaños, ni apoyo en mis estudios, ni atención para mis problemas porque "él siempre nos necesita más". Mis padres han gastado cada centavo de mis ahorros para la universidad en terapias que no han servido de nada y ahora, a sus 60 años, esperan que yo firme un documento legal comprometiéndome a hacerme cargo de él por el resto de mi vida. No voy a heredar una carga que yo no elegí y que me robaría los próximos 40 años de existencia. Mi madre me llamó "monstruo sin alma" y dice que la sangre es una cadena que no se puede romper. Mi padre dice que soy un malagradecido y que si no acepto, me van a desheredar de lo poco que queda. Mi postura es que yo no pedí nacer para ser el enfermero de nadie y que mis padres son unos egoístas por querer condenar mi futuro para aliviar su culpa de no haber planificado el futuro de mi hermano de forma profesional. Mis amigos dicen que soy muy frío, pero ninguno de ellos ha pasado un solo día viviendo en mi casa. ¿Soy un hermano desalmado por querer mi libertad o mis padres están cometiendo un abuso al imponerme una responsabilidad que no me corresponde?
