Romeo and Juliet at the Harold Pinter Theatre. So good, I saw it three times! Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe were perfectly fine in the title roles. But this was really a triumph for director Robert Icke. Innovative. Ambitious. Creative. Playful. And featuring a mind-bending final twist that nobody sees coming. Quite simply, he's done it again. 4/5 P.S. It is surprisingly regular, around 100 in the UK, over a thousand in the US, but my point was it's men that overwhelmingly do the killing, of both men and women. I didn't suggest is was a majority category. When did I claim the ideal couple is not a regular straight couple? You say the stats exist. Share them. I'm not sure you're fully understanding the small research that exists. For instance I believe you meant the U.S. data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey above, but haven't observed that it was all time female partners, not a female partner necessarily. In short, lesbian women reported higher lifetime rates of intimate partner violence than heterosexual women, but bisexual women report the highest rates overall, yet not all violence reported by lesbian women was committed by female partners. Crucially it was a study about victims, not perpetrators.

@DamonMillar @Mark___Taylor Spousal murder is not “regular”. It doesn’t even make up the majority of female murders. And these stats do exist in civilized countries. And all stats point to children of regular couples having the best upbringing and lowest rates of crime. Although this does vary by race.

Not long ago we had a case where a gay couple adopted a son and then loaned him out to their gay friends to sexually abuse. When offered to abuse a small boy none of the gay friends refused, or called the police, or did anything at all but join. That’s the gay community.

@Jainadave_ Yes but running has other benefits. Plus running for only a mile isn't very productive anyway. And you can do both.

Unpopular opinion: Walking 3 miles will burn more calories than running 1 mile. It is easier to walk 3 miles while listing to a podcast, music, audiobook, etc.

It really isn't vibes as facts. I was expressing an opinion. I don't believe robust stats exist. Crimes OF single parent family kids is a stat showing what leads to kids committing crime, not parents committing the crime against the children. Lesbian domestic abuse is a reporting feature - husbands actually kill wives alarmingly regularly in the world.

What is called a living wage I suppose - certainly close to the median would do it. I'm not suggesting that people should not aspire to a higher wage; but rather there is joy to be had in this wonderful gift of life and money doesn't really make you happy (more secure/ safe/ settled).

@DamonMillar @Mark___Taylor This ignores the fact that homosexuality is born from trauma. If men are the problem, gay couples are always the most abusive to children. But beliefs aside, no stats will make the sight of two men walking down the sidewalk with a little boy in a dress anything but disturbing.

Again the drag/ trans is a nich perversion. You said no evidence then said they were over represented... I don't believe there is evidence avaliable- crime stats don't record sexuality - but it may be that such cases are so bad they stick in the mind. While I have sympathy with those who want to be parents, I don't believe it's a good idea to allow two men to adopt a child...

@DamonMillar @Mark___Taylor There is no direct evidence of this, but gays are over represented in cases of child abuse and it seems that gays generally are ok with child drag queens and children being present at gay pride parades.

Curtain Call Thursday: Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York). The recent Tony Award nominations reminded me just how much I loved this show. I saw it several times, from its original run at the Kiln Theatre to the Criterion Theatre transfer, and it never disappointed. Brilliant songs. Genuine heart. Real humour. A perfect ending. In my view, the finest new musical since Hadestown. Already planning another visit on my next trip to New York. 5/5 (easiest 5* I gave in 2024)

@BenNevi84006885 @Mark___Taylor Is there any evidence for this? I mean look at the grooming gangs. 250,000 British girls as victims. That's a lot of straight men raping girls. So I think it's more a 'club' prevented peado men join together, gay or straight.

Pretty. The stats support it. Men are a problem - a percentage of men will abuse family members. It's a subset male thing. A key point is women - a 'mother' will be able to prevent sexual abuse in many cases. In a gay male couple, without a woman in the house, may increase the likelihood of abuse. But I'd have to see the stats.

@MissStereoHeart @DamonMillar @omgsidewalks Exactly. You say you can read the books for free? The machine you’ll read them on costs money. You’ll find the book at the library? You need to drive there (gas), bike there or walk there (shoes). No way around it.

A minimal amount of money. A basic salary. That's all. Find somewhere with a nice walk and run location nearby. Some running shoes aren't too costly and last if looked after. A book a week from a second hand book store is a few bucks. Cheap public transport can get you to many free things like museums. Friends cost nothing, neither do relationships. Don't deny yourself happiness. Plenty of miserable rich people.

getting to the beach takes money though running in the park cost money for the shoes you have to wear to be able to run in, (could argue the no shoe but then you do that you set yourself up for potential medical costs) you’d have to buy the book or purchase a service (also would need a tv) gas to get to said free museum in order to have all those things someone needs money. i’m not trying be problematic, but those truly aren’t free. it’s not about the money, but money is always involved someway somehow
