@Doug_Lemov Creating a pointless dichotomy to promote a product or an idea is really harmful. All good lessons contain Knowledge AND Skills AND Aptitudes AND Concepts AND a teacher with the intelligence to integrate them around the needs of the children in front of them.

Marking that involved giving all students the same 'model answer' in response to homework, proved marginally more effective than teacher marked work in a study of 186 sci students on university courses, but was liked much less by the students. Interesting to try at ks3-5.
