Das @handelsblatt berichtet heute über unser €15M Seed-Investment in @Hades. Warum dieses Investment etwas besonderes ist? Es hat das Potential eine kontinentale Erzählung zu verändern: Wir sind bei seltenen Erden nicht abhängig. Das ganze Zeug liegt unter unseren Füßen! Bisher ist es schlichtweg aufgrund der Geologie zu teuer, diese seltenen Erden abzubauen. Hades hat eine komplett neue Verfahrenstechnik entwickelt. Mithilfe extrem leistungsfähiger Laser „schmelzen“ wir uns durch die Erdkruste. Und auf einmal wird der Abbau der seltenen Erden auch in Europa wirtschaftlich machbar. Ein Wahnsinnsprojekt. Hades has closed a €15M Seed round. This accelerates our work on high power laser drilling for hard rock and subsurface access. Drilling is slow and expensive. After five incredible years helping pioneer a new fusion technology at @MarvelFusion and saying goodbye to a truly marvelous team (still cheering for you!), I took a short break. Through building a deep tech company from the ground up, I learned a lot about tackling big, complex problems for the benefit of humanity.
