Defending Korra till my last days.

What a nothingburger post. No1 "missed" the narrative intent, we just don't like it and think it's dumb. Why would an avatar without the past lives be better narratively? Reincarnation is the whole point of the avatar, what authority do they have without the wisdom of past lives?

Korra had mentors, resources, and peace… and still made things harder than they needed to be 🙂↔️

Agree or Disagree: 95% of the hatred Korra gets would disappear if this never happened

Lmao u acting like losing past lives erases what the Avatar is, which isn’t true. Reincarnation still continues, the Avatar still exists, and their authority was never just about consulting previous lives. Their role is to maintain balance in the present, not just rely on the past. Aang had access to past Avatars and still rejected their advice when it didn’t align with his values. That alone shows their authority isn’t dependent on inherited wisdom, it comes from their own decisions. Korra losing that connection removes guidance, not identity. It forces her to act without a safety net, which is a narrative shift, not a failure.

Well the 2/3/4 seasons can be prevented if she didn’t open the portals. Imagine you just arrived in a city, caused a lot of trouble, and got off the hook because you’re the Avatar, helped by two nepo babies. She did escalate the tension with the Equalists. All of these can be prevented if she stayed
