@ClayTravis I live in a very large city. My son's golf ranking is high enough that if he plays in town AND WINS, his ranking GOES DOWN. Golf may be a special case, but the best of the best have to play in the best-ranked fields or it hurts them.

Well said. If you live in a decent sized town I refuse to believe it’s necessary to travel for games for kids under high school age. There are plenty of teams to play in your city.
