A lot of people seem impressed (or at least intrigued) that the upcoming #Oppenheimer movie will do a nuclear detonation using only practical effects. What's the big deal? We've been making mushroom clouds without CGI for almost 80 years.
It's odd how we have a subconscious stigma against doing certain things alone. The two most obvious examples I can think of are going to restaurants and movie theaters. There's also a bit of liberation once you shrug off that shame and just enjoy life in your own company.
@EarsToTheWeb In the middle of almost every list and measure, inoffensive, often forgotten, and if you bring us up to anyone, they don't really know much except some vague half-truth about something they sorta recall disapproving of.
When someone asks, "Do you know who I am?" you need to look at the age. If they're young, it's arrogance. If they're old, you should probably help them out.
