The catalyst for writing Second Set Of Eyes was the level of misunderstanding I encountered when I started coaching head coaches. From what I'd get called (life coach, mentor, coach developer) to the questions I'd encounter ("What's the return on investment of our club using you?") it was clear that there needed to be some sort of consolidating document to help everyone fill in the blanks. This book is my reimagining of head coaching for the contemporary sporting landscape. It moves us past self-help and self-education, to peer support and guided learning. With one week to go until launch, I wanted to give you a sneak peak at the chapter titles, so you can begin to envision the journey we're about to go on: 1. The Biggest Myth In Coaching 2. Great Coaches Get Coached 3. The Eye Test 4. The Primary Coaching Skills 5. Coaches Are Performers, Too 6. The Great Irony 7. The Burnout Problem 8. Coaching Free 9. The Leader Who Learns Modern coaching has changed, and you need to change with it. The heroes of yesteryear and old models of success are outdated. They don’t match with the organizations of today. Winning in the current landscape is not about your individual brilliance; it’s derived from your ability to elicit collective greatness from within every person in your organization. Modern head coaching, then, requires more than a single set of eyes.
