Make work pay - raise the personal allowance to 20k. No fit person should be better off claiming benefits than actually working. Clamp down on the clever scroungers who are running rings around the incompetent DWP. Fraud means fraud. Cut ALL translation and interpretation costs for foreign languages. In 2023 - 816,036 DWP calls were translated. If you can't speak English (obvious exceptions aside), then you should not be able to claim benefits. In 2023, £726 million was spent on refugee households claiming Universal Credit in 2023. What is the real cost for all foreign nationals claiming benefits from the British taxpayer? A figure I have been pressing the Prime Minister for... The welfare system needs total and fundamental reform - it is NOT working for the decent British taxpayer.
