If the U.S. is considering sending Marines into Iran, the American people deserve transparency. Limiting Pentagon press access and threatening broadcasters isn’t accountability, it’s intimidation. In Congress, I’ll fight to protect press freedom and ensure no official can punish journalists for doing their job.

$11 BILLION in just the first week of war with Iran. That same $11B could keep 5.3 million Americans insured, feed 42 million people on SNAP, or fund humanitarian aid around the world with some left over. Apparently there’s no money to help people — but there’s always money for war. Congress has a choice next week. Fund another endless war, or end it now. If you send me to Congress, I’ll fight to make sure no president can start wars on a whim.

One of the most frequent questions at my town halls in #il08 is how to fix our politics. One key starting place is money in politics. Someone you’ve never heard of can spend millions of dollars to influence your vote, and you’re not even allowed to know who they are. That’s dark money, and it has no place in a democracy. As an End Citizens United “Unrig Washington” candidate, I’m committed to comprehensive campaign finance reform.

If you’re just tuning into this race, here’s my 60-second pitch. I’m the only candidate in this race who has served in the military and practiced law. I’m running on a 10-Step Trump Accountability Plan to restore congressional authority and rein in executive power. Trump fired Kristi Noem. But firing her doesn’t mean accountability. If Donald Trump pardons officials before leaving office, federal prosecutions could be blocked. That’s why Congress has another path: investigation and state-level accountability. When Democrats retake the House in 2027, we can launch a commission to investigate abuses of power, send criminal referrals to state prosecutors, and coordinate with states to pursue corruption cases that federal pardons can’t erase. The rule of law shouldn’t depend on who the president protects.

When gas prices spike and groceries cost even more, remember why. The war with Iran doesn’t just mean instability overseas. It means higher oil prices, disrupted global supply chains, and working families here at home paying the price. This conflict had no clear strategy and no plan to protect American households. At a time when families are already stretched thin, Donald Trump chose escalation over solutions. We need leadership focused on lowering costs, not starting wars that make everything more expensive. #IL08

The world deserves real rules of engagement in the Iran conflict, clear boundaries that protect civilians and prevent unnecessary escalation. Right now Pete Hegseth is openly rejecting traditional ROE as “stupid” and embracing unfettered force instead of restraint and accountability. That’s not strength, that’s a recipe for more suffering we’ll all pay for. Congress must act to ensure that the rules of engagement are in place for the safety of civilians and our own service members. #iran #il08 #war

Trump started a war of distraction. No legal basis.
No Congressional authorization.
No justification. 40,000 American troops are at risk in the Middle East. Iran is already striking U.S. bases and just destroyed a dining hall where I ate while deployed. He admits troops could die. He’s fine with that. And of course, Congress let him. I’m running to stop a president who treats the Constitution like a suggestion and American lives as expendable.
