Danesfield Reception

Watching our reception children grow in Confidence and making friendship bonds is a beautiful thing to observe . Look at these friend’s supporting , listening and helping each other by doing things together 😊 These are skills that are important at such a young age 😊

Using a 10 frame and number recognition was our focus in our Math books today . Drawing 9 flowers in the frame and leaving one blank . “If you add one more that’s 10” we noticed . Look at the concentration on these faces 😊 @DanesfieldSchl

Reception gymnastics show us how to stand , jump down and safely land on our feet in PE . Look at our beautiful gymnastic stance to balance our bodies before we jump off safely 🤸🤸‍♂️ @DanesfieldSchl

We opened Danesfield train station this morning with lots of ticket destination writing and pretend journeys to far away places We seen some fantastic writing in drawing club about our runaway train and lots of train track construction was put to the test 🚂 @DanesfieldSchl

Today in PE, reception did a warm up to warm up our muscles and bodies 🏃‍♀️ Our keen little footballers then dribbled the ball in and out cones and passed it to our partner. ⚽️🦵

We have some very keen little Mathematicians in reception 👩‍🎓 A part , part ,whole model is a way of representing the relationship between a whole number and its component parts. The visual representation used early on is a great way to teach value. 👨‍🎓 @DanesfieldSchl

“Arrgh , Shiver me timbers” The reception Pirate Ship set sail this morning. 🏴‍☠️ We had lots of fun on our Pirate role play ship in our story corner , Pirate Pete story telling, parrot making in art and making different types of ships through construction. 🏴‍☠️🦜 @DanesfieldSchl

It’s pirate week 🏴‍☠️ and the children have loved using tech to generate random numbers and fill their treasure chests with gold coins! @danesfieldschl

The craft area was the place to be this morning! The children made beautiful star wands to try and make their New Year wishes come true. 🌟 🪄 @DanesfieldSchl

Today the children showed fantastic skill in PE, carefully dribbling the ball around the cones and running back to their team to cheer on the next person. Great work from everyone! ⚽️ @DanesfieldSchl

RMO jumped into 2024 excited and enthusiastic and ready for more learning. Building models and sharing ideas together , doing amazing maths and super sentence writing to Santa to say thank you for our Christmas gifts we’re just a few from today 😊 @DanesfieldSchl

Ways to make 5. Using the whiteboard we showed the children 4 and asked what part was hiding , “1 “ they answered . We extended this by giving the children a 5 frame and 5 counters to throw in the air . What part is red and what part is yellow , all making 5 🖐️ @DanesfieldSchl

We had the pleasure of having one very talented Daddy in school today. Phil showed the children how a trombone moved to make sounds and how we played it by using a hose , mouth piece and plastic funnel. 🎶🎼🎶🎼 @DanesfieldSchl

Reception have been busy decorating Christmas tree baubles . Don’t they look amazing ? All ready to go home to put in their Christmas trees 🎄 @DanesfieldSchl

Christmas card inserts and letters to Santa is what these busy reception children have been doing today . I will be good, I love you Santa . Can I have a bike please ? Wow reception !!! @DanesfieldSchl @edshed
