I just want to put a few things out there: 1. Laptops aren’t necessarily expensive. The one I’m giving out cost ₦125,000 per each. It’s foreign-used (from Europe), not brand new. I have used more than 20 laptops in the last 15 years cos of the nature of my work and my current laptop is also not a new one. 2. Last year, I gave out 15 laptops valued at ₦215,000 per each, but this time we’ve decided to give laptops to more people rather than just a few, hence we may likely go above the 15 I had previously mentioned, since price per each is cheaper this year. 3. If you’re trading crypto or stocks, you’ll likely do better with your phone. You don’t need an expensive or large phone either — just one with a big battery, like an Oukitel with an 11,000 mAh battery. 4. If a laptop is truly essential for you, start with something basic. If you’re committed, that laptop can help you earn enough to buy any laptop of your choice later. 5. While I can’t be 100% sure, I’m mainly looking to gift these laptops to highly committed individuals who can’t afford one (or would struggle to afford one) and for whom receiving it will be a real turning point in their career or income-generating efforts. 6. I usually prefer people who are already prepared over those who only make promises. Opportunities mostly meet those who are ready — just like I’d rather have a dish that’s already cooked than wait for someone who might get delayed or find the market closed. 7. The laptop I’m giving out is a Core i5 (4th generation or higher), with a 500GB or 730GB HDD, 8GB RAM, and a 15-inch screen. Most are Dell, HP, or Lenovo.
