If Streeting — the Rt Hon Member for Mandelson and Palantir — is seriously now even part of the answer, Labour is still, even after all of this national trauma, starting off by asking the wrong question.

As I said, Labour MPs are not going to sign off on cuts to schools, hospitals and welfare to allow increased defence spending. Keir Starmer is simply kicking this into the long grass in the hope that by the summer the war will be over, and the agenda will have moved on.

There is no good reason for these youths or their negligent parents to be here. They cannot be "integrated" in any meaningful sense. The behaviour is the same in America, Japan, Jamaica... London is not better for being turned into Nigeria, South Africa, or the Congo. Their imprisonment will just impose another needless cost on the taxpayer. They should be encouraged or made to leave instead.

The 1976 Labour leadership election was contested by Callaghan, Foot, Jenkins, Healey, Benn and Crosland - every one of them a political titan. Compare this line-up with what we have today, not just within Labour but across the entire political spectrum. How we have fallen.

I’ve just watched Palestine 36: So many people need a history lesson. October 7th wasn’t the start. It goes back a long long way. Imagine being a citizen to a place that lost status, sovereignty, human rights, freedom and land. And then for decades got hemmed in, encroached, destroyed and an appropriation of the land unchecked. Every competent, wealthy nation has a sovereign wealth fund. It’s time Britain joined them. Just as a responsible household invests for the future, the state must do the same, using the returns from this fund to invest back into Britain and improve life for her citizens. 🇬🇧

Starmer knew Mandelson was intimately close with Epstein but circumvented the vetting process to make him US Ambassador, had him help choose parliamentary candidates for the last general election, used him to help with his last cabinet reshuffle. Britain needs a better PM...
