@seyirnotlari Cool story but you need a better AI. The whole story through, the genders kept swapping. "cracked her ankle" but then "she grabbed her jacket" and "meet her friends", then "he took off the ring", then "she threw away" but also "she didn't brew". Difficult to read.

@michellemaywil @Rentalcarman914 @lady_valor_07 Whether she brings out a cheap house wine or a 1982 vintage, it's exactly the same amount of work done. Same with a bowl of salad vs a $300 steak. Why should she get a higher tip just because the patron is ordering something more expensive?

@Rentalcarman914 @lady_valor_07 My daughter was a server last year, making $3.50/hr. So, tipping is an essential part of their income. A good server should have been at least $ 100 (20%) for a $500 bill. Just so-so, should have been at least $90 (18%). $40 told her she was terrible.

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic. ~Lea Robertson

@JaneSmithMD @FrankHurdl69243 @lady_valor_07 Honest question, and I don't mean to be rude, just trying to understand as a non-American, if you are really making "next to nothing in pay", why do you still choose to be a server? I see so many comments saying this but why do they still continue to do this job?

@FrankHurdl69243 @lady_valor_07 I was a server for over 20 years. It's true, we have to tip out and we make next to nothing in pay. I would always get upset if I got a crappy tip. As I've grown I've come to realize that even poor people deserve a chance to treat themselves every once in a while, big tip or not.

@nickimoraa Seriously, what's up with all these fake AI stories these days? There are at least 3 - 4 of these "I got asked to switch seats on the plane" stories every single day on my feed. And not even good stories either.

I was on a late evening flight, already exhausted, window seat, headphones in, mentally unavailable for any form of human interaction. A guy shows up to my row, looks at me, then at his ticket, then back at me like I’m the plot twist. “Hey… would you mind switching? My seat’s just a few rows back.” I already knew “just a few rows back” was code for worse in every possible way. I ask, “Window?” He hesitates. That hesitation told me everything. “…middle.” Oh. I smiled the kind of smile that already says no. “I think I’ll stay here.” He nods, but then hits me with, “It’s just that I don’t really like flying, and I was hoping to sit closer to the front.” Sir. None of us like flying. We tolerate it. I gesture gently, “I get that, but I specifically picked this seat.” He lingers for a second like maybe I’ll suddenly discover generosity mid-conversation. I do not. He sighs, does that little disappointed head shake, and walks back. I think it’s over. It is not.

I took my daughter out for Chinese food last weekend, she’s 16, old enough to know better. We sat down, and when the waiter came to take our order, she made a comment, A racist one, directed at him, to his face. The waiter kept his composure, took our order, and walked away. I put my menu down and looked at her. She could tell from my face that something was coming, I called the waiter back over, told my daughter to stand up. She looked at me like I had lost my mind, i told her again, she stood up. I told her to apologize to this man properly. She started with a weak “sorry.” I told her that wasn’t good enough, i told her to get on her knees and apologize like she meant it. The restaurant went quiet. She looked around at the other tables. Then she looked at me. Got on her knees, and apologized. The waiter was gracious about it. He told her he appreciated it, then briefly explained what it felt like to deal with comments like that while just trying to do his job. She was crying before he finished talking. We ate our meal mostly in silence. When we got home, I grounded her for a whole month. No phone. No going out. Nothing. Some people told me I went too far. That kneeling was too much, I disagree. She embarrassed a man in his place of work in front of strangers. The least she could do was feel a fraction of that discomfort. I’m not raising a child who thinks people are beneath her. Not on my watch. Was I too harsh, or did my daughter get exactly what she needed?

@Capernaum89 @stainlessMCFC @Sxnt1_Sxndxval Classic gaslighting. You wanna have a personal fund, that's great and not a problem at all. What is not OK, is lying about it, pretending you're broke then getting your boyfriend to go into debt to sustain your lifestyle choices. It was NEVER about the money.

@stainlessMCFC @Sxnt1_Sxndxval Because women are so often abused that it is normal to teach your daughter to protect herself just in case. That’s what her grandmother did. It wasn’t meant to be a betrayal to him, it was intended to protect her. Not evil or malicious, just practical. Statistics.

@loladee154 @Moonlight_myths The boy is already 13. Hitting him further just tells him that he has to obey because he is currently still weaker than you. When he is 18 and stronger than you, he will use the same tactic to hit others to get them to obey and get what he wants.

Your son is been physically abusive and the only way you thought it is ok to correct him is by taking his play station? That boy is five years away from 18,so what happens when he can buy his own play station? Not everything is gentle parenting, that young man deserved an immediate very dirty triple slaps that will fling him across the room so that next time he will think twice before raising his itchy hands on anyone.

I'm a mom to a 13 year old boy, and I'm still in shock over what he did. He's been seeing a girl from his class for a few months, and yesterday she came to our house. While I was downstairs cooking dinner, I suddenly heard crying and rushed upstairs. I found his girlfriend in tears, covering her face. When I asked what was wrong, my son said she ruined his video game. Then I asked her what happened, and she said my son had slapped her. I was really upset but knew hitting back wasn't the solution. So, I took the girl to the kitchen to help her calm down. When her mom came to pick her up, I apologized for my son's behavior and suggested they take some time apart for now…

Flight attendant comes up to me before takeoff, very gentle voice: “Hi, would you be willing to switch seats to help a family sit together?” I already know. I just know. Me: “What seat is it?” Her: “It’s a middle seat toward the back.” I said, “I’m happy to help if it’s the same type of seat or better.” She smiles that tight customer-service smile and goes, “It would really mean a lot to them.” I said, “It already means a lot to me. That’s why I paid for it.” She just nodded and walked away. Respectfully, too. Because what argument is left?

@javarevisited @nickimoraa The seat numbers are prominently printed on the overhead area, clearly marked and impossible to mistake. There is literally zero need to wait for the flight attendant. "See that 3A number with the little window beside it? That's how you know my window seat is 3A."

I boarded the morning flight, and there was a man sitting in my seat. When I told him that this was my seat, he stood up and let me get to my seat. He turned to me and said, "You booked 3A?" I said, "Yeah." He said, "If you're traveling again, the aisle is 3A and this is 3B." I told him, "No, that's not right, but it's fine." He said, "Yeah, it is right." Then the flight attendant came, and that was the shock... When the flight attendant came to ask if we wanted drinks, I smiled at her and said: “Good morning, could you tell me what seat this is?” Her: “Your seat? This is 3A” Me: “I knew that. Can I have an apple juice please?” Man in 3B: “Oh, this is 3A? Sorry” And then he touched me and patted me and apologized again. Honestly, it’s too early for these pointless displays... like I can’t read and he’s doing me a favor

Something even worse happened to me on the Eurostar. Two women with a baby were sitting in my seat and the one next to it. They asked if I’d take one of their seats three cars away. I dragged my heavy suitcase all the way there, only to find it already occupied. With no easy way to prove it was mine and zero desire to haul my luggage back, I just found another empty seat for the rest of the journey. Next time, I won’t be so obliging! 😅

@nickimoraa this kind of mindset shouldn't be encouraged, this is why love is dying in the world, nobody Wants to help, people are selfish, self centered and proud of it. there's absolutely nothing wrong if you make that concession. and from the CS everyone sheepishly endorses this attitude.

@ScottDFricano @nickimoraa No......with all due respect, that does NOT define class at all. What defines class is actually making effort to plan my flights and seats properly so I do not need to resort to emotionally blackmailing complete strangers who actually paid for their own seats.

@BetterBiggerand @xinwendiaocha I agree that the initial slap is probably enough, and really, going all out and kicking her in the head while she is down is probably overkill. Although I would stop short of saying "nothing" she did justifies it. I could probably think of a few scenarios where I'd justify it.
