Great move by the #Vikings. The exact type of swing OT they needed. I’m fascinated to see the run game wrinkles that Frank Smith potentially brings. Will there be a little more horizontal stress (creative pre-snap motions, well designed screen game, etc.)?

The swing tackle role is an area the #Vikings really needed to upgrade this offseason. Last year, when injuries hit at either tackle spot, there was a major dropoff. Van Demark has experience at LT (primary college position at UConn) and RT. Excellent agility and flexibility metrics with long arms (35 3/4"). 9.43 RAS score. VanDemark didn't see snaps until later high school, so he needed more refinement from a strength and technical standpoint. He learned and developed under OL coach Aaron Kromer in Buffalo. Kromer previously worked with Kevin O'Connell in LA (2020). Van Demark is only 27 years old (almost 28) and could continue developing behind Darrisaw and O'Neill while filling an important swing tackle role. The Bills now have five days to match.
