Today we remember the birth of the baby born in a humble stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. His birth was significant because of the things He would experience so that He could not only save the world from sin and death but also bring hope to you.

What you do for hyper anxious people is gradually expose them (with their voluntary consent) to increasingly threatening situations. That cures them.

By “free speech”, I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.

We have enough work to do emulating the gentle Christ. And we do that through learning to love God and reaching out to bless others. Yes, there will still be conflict. But our all-powerful Father in Heaven has promised that He will fight our battles for us.

Conflict is inevitable, but contention is a choice. We cannot adjust the volume on others’ bitterness or rage. But we can choose our response. As followers of Jesus Christ, we follow this example. We do not shame or attack others. We seek to love God and serve our neighbors.

I testify that the Savior lives. He understands unfairness. The marks in the palms of His hands continually remind Him of you and your circumstances. He ministers to you in all your distress.

My wife used to always say, “A smile tells the world that your heart is at home.” As the world tries to get you down, just keep going, do the best you can, and be patient. God knows our trials, and He wants to help us through them.

I invite you to not only know about the Lord Jesus Christ but also come to know Him and seek through the power of His Atonement to become like Him.

Because you are so valuable, some of your trials may be severe. You need never be discouraged or afraid. The way through difficulties has always been prepared for you, and you will find it if you exercise faith.

The pandemic did not catch the Lord by surprise! He has prepared us to learn important lessons about how to better serve Him and the people around us. When we return to our new normal, I hope that we will remember and apply the many lessons we’ve learned during this time.
