@ZherkaOfficial Shove your 'she' and 'her' up your fucking arse.
You know what you're doing and you deserve no respect.

You’re convinced Ellen Page will ruin the movie for you, but she’s actually not that bad. She doesn’t play a major role, and the character she plays even makes sense within the story.
Tom Holland, on the other hand, is the one who completely ruins the movie. It’s genuinely surprising how miscast he feels here, because nothing in his previous performances suggested he would be this distracting and cringe.

"There were only a couple of small turds in the entire pudding. What's with all the hate?"

They got more hate than screentime 😭

The Odyssey disaster has started a wave of Nolan revisionism that I don't quite subscribe to. I think his filmography is broadly solid. He elevated the popcorn blockbuster to at least middlebrow levels and he deserves credit for that
Bop Tungle@BTungle25194
Fascinated by Nolan’s meta-narrative: An alienated genius of exceptional technical ability who subsequently cannot connect/must leave behind his loved ones to venture ever further into the void. He must! For better or worse the man knows his tune

@AnthonyCumia Don't you have a child bride to rape or something?

@venom1s This could just have been the phrase "I haven't seen The Drama"

What does Zendaya have on Hollywood filmmakers that they keep casting her in almost every major upcoming movie?
She plays the same character every time. And no hate to her, but her acting range is limited.
Despite years in the industry, can anyone name even one scene from any of her movies where she delivered a truly outstanding performance?
So why do they keep choosing her over other talented actresses?

@Interzone418 @Gnosisinformant Please stop crying. It's embarrassing.
English

@DanielNothing @Gnosisinformant You know, the deranged surgical experiment playing Sinon
English

Wait.. so there is not "Achilles in Hades" AT ALL in Nolan's adaption? No Achilles? Elliot Page plays Sinon?
I mean, I get that Achilles is not a major character in the Odyssey. But that scene in Hades is pretty important in my opinion.
Why did everyone think this was Achilles then?
I guess I have to wait til I see the movie on wednesday.

English

@venom1s "Lupita? Hi this is your agent. I've just read a very sobering message from some internet rando, and well...just listen to what he said. We should both be ashamed of ourselves, basically. I'm quitting the industry for homelessness, I suggest you do the same"
English

"The face that launched a thousand ships."
People are saying, "Don't blame Lupita Nyong'o. The casting decision wasn't hers."
But she chose to accept the role, right?
Imagine if a white actor decided to play Michael Jackson, Barack Obama, or T'Challa.
They're saying The Odyssey is fiction. So, Black Panther is a comic book.
Can a white person play Black Panther?
Helen is one of the most important characters in The Odyssey. Her beauty plays a huge role in the story. She was Greek.
Casting a Black actress ruins everything.
She's a good actress, and people may find her beautiful. But that's not what Helen of Troy was like.
Woke Hollywood is destroying thousand-year-old history.

English

@Gnosisinformant He meets Sinon in Hades instead, the theory is that originally she was playing Achilles but they changed the name in post.
English

@13thschizoidman @PlatinumEquinox Holy fucking shit give it up.
"I got angry about something that didn't happen, but instead of going 'Gee, I was wrong about that, oops!', I'm just going to pretend I was right and that the most successful film maker alive had to change something because I scared him so much"
English

@PlatinumEquinox By the look of it. No.
Its clear Page was supposed to be. Edited out in reshoots.
Billed as best warrior.
Appears as a ghost.
Its achillies by another name.
English

@BortonDoug I'd certainly be into seeing it.
What I don't get about the hatred for Nolan's movie is how much power the haters are giving it.
"I was looking forward to seeing ONE film for the rest of my life, but now it isn't exactly what I just looked up on Wikipedia 5 minutes ago, I'm angry"
English

@DanielNothing I mean, I can't lie. The proposed alternative version sounds pretty damn cool.
English

@DanielNothing In the end can there be a bunch of German U-Boats pulling up to the shore? We need to maintain the Mel Gibson standard of historical accuracy.
English

It’s bad. Real bad. I was the only person laughing every time Ellen Page showed up on screen. Achilles conversation with Odysseus is one of the most important scenes in all of our literature. In our mythology. In our theology. It’s an abomination.
The Rabbit Hole@TheRabbitHole
Woke entertainment is dying. Odyssey is the Hail Mary. If Nolan can’t make woke work then nobody can.
English

@bendreyfuss Does he, at any point, say "Maaaatt... DAAAAMoooon..."
English

@DanielNothing sorry to go on, i just watched it so it's all very clear in my head.
English

@bernardtjoy Are you still sad you can't watch the popular movie that everyone likes?
Jesus Christ, what a fucking wimp.
