Ferrari has just officially unveiled its first ever all-electric car, called the Ferrari Luce. • Starting price: $640,000 • Interior co-designed with Apple's former head of design, Jony Ive • Range: 280 miles (expected EPA) • Peak charging speed: 350kW • 122 kWh battery • 1,050 horsepower • 0-60mph: 2.4s • 800v • Four-door four-seater • Four electric motors • OLED screens • Weight: 4,982 lbs • Front motors spin to 30,000 rpm, rears hit 25,500 rpm • Car uses an accelerometer to capture real vibrations from the electric motors & rear chassis. An algorithm filters out unpleasant frequencies and amplifies only the more “musical” sounds. This can be heard inside and outside the car. • Paddle shifter on steering wheel changes how aggressively torque is delivered, with five different levels • The trunk has 21.1 cubic feet of space, the largest luggage capacity the company has ever offered • 197.6 inches long, about as long as a Tesla Model S U.S. deliveries start in Q2 2027. Brake calipers are gold instead of red. Lots of little goodies inside as well. But the main thing is the exclusivity of being among the last batch ever made.
Overall I’m perfectly happy with my 2024 Model S Plaid, as it’s 99% the same car as this. It does feel like it just became a little more exclusive too.

School buses need to be Electric. It should be a priority.
Over 25 Million students are transported by Diesel School buses everyday in North America.
Diesel exhaust is classified as a known human carcinogen. If anyone has ridden in one, they know these fumes don’t just emit out of the tailpipe, they linger inside the bus as well. It has that distinct smell. Plus these buses are always idling and polluting the surroundings of children outside.
Keep in mind that children inhale 50% more air per body weight than adults. Long-term effects are linked to impacts on brain development, reduced academic performance, and even developmental delays.
Switching to EV removes that exposure entirely. The buses won’t emit any fumes, they can be autonomous and safer, as well as save the cities and schools a ton of money in maintenance costs as an added benefit.
Every time I see one on the road I think of this stuff. I hope the future comes quickly.

@MissJilianne I’m contemplating this as well for our new-to-us X Plaid. It is a ‘23 so we missed the new sporty seats. EVOffer sells reproduction version that uses your existing seat base & electronics for a fraction of Tesla’s price.

Tesla has released a job posting for the Next-Gen Roadster Manufacturing Engineer role:
"Tesla is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to the concept development and launch of battery manufacturing equipment for our cutting-edge Roadster vehicle. In this role you will take large scale manufacturing systems for new battery products and architectures from the early concept development stage through equipment launch, optimization and handover to local operations teams. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges for the all-new Roadster product architecture while still in its early development stages."
Elon Musk said Roadster production would start 12–18 months after unveiling during the last Shareholder Meeting.
