I LOVE working in a school as diverse as @RyersonHeights. I used to avoid giving Christian holiday greetings (Thanksgiving, Christmas) and usually said “enjoy the holiday break/long wknd” But several parents wished me a happy thanksgiving this wk and it made me reconsider…

One of my favourite moments in kindergarten @RyersonHeights so far…This munchkin doesn’t have a lot of verbal communication, but in this moment he took my hand and named the colour of each apple. I was so proud of him and grinning for hours 🍎🤩❤️ @GEDSB #inclusiveed

We had an apple investigation in the #rainbowroom @RyersonHeights & one of our gems came to show me the apples he found in one of the table books.A lot of our kinders are MLL, but they always find a way to share their observations and ideas 🍎 @GEDSB #FallisOurFavourite

It’s a challenging conversation to have with kinders,but today we focused on respecting & being kind to everyone & embracing what makes each of us special.We had a conversation about Indigenous culture, sharing circles & talking sticks.Then we decorated our own Talking Stick🧡

About a month ago I handed out mystery flowers to my grade 1’s @RyersonHeights for our Living Things science unit. They have been sending me updates & promise they are taking care of them. Here are some photos of the blooms. 🌸

My heart is full today. A former student of mine graduated grade 8 and his mother reached out to a few former teachers and EA’s who were lucky enough to have taught and worked with this amazing human. We’re so proud of you, Tre! Congratulations 🖤

Some lucky grades 1’s @RyersonHeights got to pick up a flower surprise this week.We’ve been learning about living things & their needs, so this was a perfect take home learning experience.Tomorrow we’ll be making predictions about what kind & colour of flower will bloom🌸 @GEDSB

Coolest teacher technology trick I learned this year? Adding the dash (-) between the “t” and “u” of any YouTube video and it takes away the ads and all of that. It’s super cool and makes the video less tacky.

Currently listening to & participating in the @GEETFO Annual Meeting and I am BEYOND DISAPPOINTED with how it is proceeding. So many union reps are truly misrepresenting their constituents and our needs. The voices of so many GEETF members are being lost.
