@SmartdollLand For me, DHL has been handing off to a third party delivery service who is leaving the boxes at my doorstep without obtaining a signature, despite the fact I haven’t removed the requirement. It’s very frustrating.

Hey Folks, Quick heads-up - we’ve added another line to the checkout questionnaire (we know it’s getting.... long). If folks choose to waive the signature requirement for delivery, please be aware this increases the risk of loss or theft. Once a package is marked as delivered, we’re not able to cover any loss or offer a refund or replacement. We’ve had a number of cases where signatures were waived and packages went missing, with requests for us to cover the cost. Unfortunately, that’s not something we’re able to sustain. This policy has been in place since April 3, but we’re surfacing it more clearly at checkout for transparency. Introducing Smart Doll skin tone resin for 3D printers - Coffee, Tea, and Cinnamon. This was developed in collaboration with Resione ( @GodSaidTech ), whose materials we’ve already been using in-house during the development of the Evolve Frame. Their resin stood out for its mechanical strength - printed parts behave much closer to tough thermoplastics, making them suitable for drilling, fastening, and functional use rather than just display. For modders and customizers, this removes a major step. Matching Smart Doll skin tones previously meant painting, often with imperfect results. Now parts can be printed directly in the correct tone, making prototyping faster and one-off or small-batch parts far more practical. The material is part of Resione’s TH-BJD line - a tough resin designed for articulated parts, offering accurate detail, smooth surface finish, and high resistance to wear and handling. The ASL “I Love You” hand and elf ears shown were printed using Smart Doll Resione resin. With light sanding and no paint, the color match is already a close fit. The printed elf ears also fit more precisely than vinyl, as the geometry is preserved. Both items, along with many other Smart Doll option parts and accessories, are available as free STL downloads on the Smart Doll website. This release lines up with the upcoming Cyber Shell Cortex, built for customization. Its modular design allows 3D printed parts to attach directly to the body in ways vinyl can’t. Parts can be printed in matching tones and installed after basic finishing. Select STL files will also be available to use or modify. Just a reminder on pre-orders - this post is in a slightly more digestible form in the knowledge base. shop.smartdoll.jp/collections/bu… We wanted to share a bit more context around how our pre-order system works, as we’re still fine-tuning it together. Pre-orders were something many folks asked for, especially after experiencing small online releases that sold out quickly. In the past, we often released limited batches and hoped they’d find homes. When they did sell out, folks understandably felt disappointed and asked if we could offer pre-orders instead. Our approach to pre-orders is a little different from the industry norm. Rather than opening a window for months and shipping a year later, we keep pre-order windows short and align production closely with our team’s actual capacity. This allows us to bring products to more folks in a sustainable way, without overproducing or putting excessive strain on the team. That said, we’ve noticed that many folks place orders toward the end of the pre-order window. In some cases, all available slots are taken before the timer ends. When this happens, we often receive messages asking if we can open more slots. While we truly understand the frustration, the number of slots is carefully calculated based on team schedules, component availability, and our ability to maintain quality. It isn’t something we can simply expand on the fly. If there’s a product you’re interested in, placing a pre-order earlier gives you the best chance of securing a slot once the window opens. For folks who weren’t waiting intentionally and simply didn’t have the funds available at the time, we completely understand. We may offer another batch in the future, but it isn’t guaranteed. Some pre-order items return as regular releases, while others don’t. It depends on how the previous pre-order went, component availability, and what our team can realistically take on at that point. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we continue refining this system. Our goal is to keep things fair, sustainable, and focused on quality—for both the folks who support us and the team behind the scenes. #smartdoll

We’re currently experimenting with a color palette that works with the white skin tone, and it’s taking time. These images show some of the early attempts. Because the skin is slightly translucent, light passes through the surface, scatters, and reflects back out, which means the base skin tone strongly influences how colors appear. As a result, the same pigment can look very different once applied. The white skin tone also exaggerates color perception - subtle hues become more noticeable, and neutral tones can shift unexpectedly. For example, the freckles you see on Legion are actually gray, but they appear brown once applied. Next, we’ll be testing versions with less pink and without blushing, as blushing further alters surrounding colors through contrast and light interaction. If you’d like to experiment as well, feel free to suggest colors using the attached photos :-) #smartdoll

Morning folks! So we are considering doing a version of Valen without the birthmark/vitiligo, based on your feedback of late. While we have no plans to do the same for the girls, Valen was originally designed without the face mark. It was added later to conceal a mold imperfection… something we now feel was the wrong approach. Lemme know what you think. #smartdoll
