Change of role for me whilst Coronavirus is lurking around. Started working along with @ChorleySite identifying patients for transfer amongst our trust sites. Takes a lot more time than I thought, so glad to be helping out even if it means leaving my beloved @MauCdh for a while!

We all knew we’d quickly become the enemy, didn’t think it would be the government to turn on us 1st though. The lies, the false promises, the ignorance of not listening to the frontline staff. But hinting that the reason PPE is lacking is due to the misuse is a new low. 🤨

Oh and another lovely little contradiction. Induction of sputum (cough) is classed as an AGP (& therefore should use FFP3) but swabbing a patient is fine in a surgical mask. Every patient is going to cough, and right at you, when you shove a swab to the back of their throat!

However, since when was chest compressions not an AGP?

Very interesting change of events for PPE equipment from PHE. I welcome it though, as someone who is high risk but choosing to stay in a lower risk direct patient facing role, I will feel safer at work now.

So, to recap.. WHO says self-isolate for 14 days. UK says 7. WHO says ‘test, test, test’ UK says applies only to countries with low & middle incomes. Not ‘appropriate’ in UK WHO says full PPE required inc visors. UK downgraded requirements last week as ‘not necessary’

The UK's press conferences vs. the US press conferences do really make me glad we live in the UK. Trump just literally makes things up on the spot and it's... Scary.
