The Presidents, Commissioners, and Athletic Directors who step up and admit the truth — these “NIL deals” are actually pay-for-play and structure them as such — will be the leaders who pave the way for the future of college athletics.
JJ Watt@JJWatt

At some point the NCAA needs to drop the “student first, athlete second” charade. Billions of dollars, NIL, transfer portal (free agency), traveling cross-country for midweek games… Education is not the main focus. Admit it and call it what it is. A business. Run it as such.

"My dad taught me everything about being a man - showing me the value of hard work. When kidney disease took him, I made a promise to carry on his legacy. Every bison I raise, every play I make, it's all for you, Dad." Full story at the link in bio. 🔗 🖤 @kardellt62 @fanword

There is a CLEAR solution IN THE PRESENT.

College Football Players must be invited to engage in a non-employee “collective negotiation” to come to an agreement with the schools, conferences, and CFP (notice I didn’t put NCAA) on all of the key issues (transfer portal aka free agency, min/max contracts, salary cap, eligibility, CFP player bonus, health and safety benefits standards, etc.). The same resistance from “finite-minded” (@simonsinek) College Presidents, Conference Commissioners, Athletic Directors, and other stakeholders with a 1-3 year mindset, is the reason that we are living in unstructured chaos right now. O’Bannon, Alston, and House were and are all chances over the past decade to do what I stated above. Nobody has stepped up to show leadership to make it happen. Leadership is not easy. Leadership takes sacrifice and compromise. Infinite-Minded Leaders with a 10-100 year mindset must step up and be the leaders for the future. They will have to look past the political pressures from their Governor or President about unionization. Or maybe they’ll just wait to be forced to. I don’t know the answer to that. Who will be first? That’s who will set the stage for a bright future for the second most popular sport in America to grow to new heights and treat everyone involved with the free market standards that this country was built on.
Pat McAfee@PatMcAfeeShow

"These NIL contracts are year to year and there is free agency every year with no salary cap.. In any system we need structure and every other professional league has rules.. This doesn't exist in College Football and it's very chaotic" ~ @DrewJRosenhaus #PMSLive

Transfer portal opens and fan bases start complaining that players have “no loyalty to the logo.” Well, it goes both ways. The “logo” (i.e. athletic dept) can show loyalty by recognizing a player’s value and paying him his worth. No more playing for free while coaches get rich.

The named plaintiffs in the House case - Grant House, Sedona Prince and Nya Harrison - sent a letter to the presiding judge in the case, Claudia Wilken, imploring her to help them create a players’ association. They are supporting Athletes.org (AO) as the new PA.

College athletes, this is why it must be YOU who is hungry to want more of the pie you generate for yourselves. There are very few people in this world who have the power that you do and who are praised, criticized and worshipped as modern day gladiators. While it may appear that you have more than enough, there is still so much being left on the table. Things like NIL or the freedom the transfer portal provides have been thrown at you, to put a bandaid over the areas where true solutions are needed. At the pro-level across all sports, it is essential for there to be a group advocating on the athletes behalf and the same is needed for you at the college level. AO is here to help you fight those battles and for YOU to have the voice, support and guidance you need in order to come to the MULTIBILLION DOLLAR negotiating tables as a group and win. For those of you who feel like it’s good where it is or all your needs are taken care of. Keep in mind both the Lebron James and Pat Mahomes have lead their players associations because it wasn’t just about them, it was about their teammates, their families and the athletes that will come after them! This is the athletes’ Locker Room For Life. This is Athletes.org. In order to take your true seat at the table you need to become a member. If you’re not a member, sign up for free today.
