As media practitioners in Sokoto State, we've been equipped and reminded of our critical role as partners in public health ahead of the upcoming SARMAAN and MNTE campaigns.

The session provided insights into SARMAAN a national child survival initiative targeting children aged 1-59 months with biannual Azithromycin to reduce under-5 mortality as well as the MNTE campaign focused on eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus uptake of the Td vaccine.

At a media engagement organized by the Sokoto State Primary Health Care Development Agency with support from partners, we were urged to uphold accurate, clear, and responsible reporting to ensure the success of these vital interventions. #MaternalHealth

@neyif2013 As the project concludes, stakeholders and beneficiaries highlighted reduced tensions, stronger trust, and sustainable mechanisms for non-violent conflict resolution, with communities pledging to sustain the gains achieved.

Last week, I participated in the successful closeout of the 3½-year flagship project, “Engaging Youth and Women as Agents of Social Cohesion through Resilience Building and Community Peace Initiatives,” implemented by @neyif2013 with support from the Global Community Fund.

The project strengthened peace and resilience across Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Kware, and Wamakko LGAs, empowering youth and women through dialogue, peace committees, and capacity building.
