BREAKING: FedEx driver who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and murdering 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been sentenced to death. Tanner Horner snatched Athena while he was delivering a Barbie doll to her home in Paradise, Texas. At one point during the trial, jurors broke down in tears while hearing audio of Horner killing Athena after he told her to take off her shirt and said she was "really pretty." Athena repeatedly asked for her mother before she was killed. "Horner is then heard asking Athena to remove her shirt, and there are several moments when she says "no" and asks for her mom. That was followed by repeated sounds of crying, screaming and banging," NBC reported last month. Following three hours of deliberation today, Horner was sentenced to death by lethal injection.

I'm a 55 year old, highly educated, practicing attorney. I've read the Book of Mormon more times than I can count. I've spent thousands of hours studying the Old and New Testaments, as well as LDS Church doctrine and history. I've read the revelation, writings, and papers of Joseph Smith and many books written about him, by members and non members alike. I've read or heard virtually every piece of anti Mormon material imaginable. I've attended thousands of hours of church services, sunday school classes, seminary programs, college level religion courses, and devoted two years exclusively to study and preaching as an ordained minister. I've literally devoted much of my life to the pursuit of gospel knowledge. Most importantly, I've received divine confirmation from the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that the Book of Mormon is true. But yeah, with all due respect random anonymous Twitter guy, forgive me if I don't take your word for it that my religion is false.

I love lone dissents at the USSC. I get to learn so much about the thinking of a justice. In my 20+ year career in the law, I’ve read a lot of USSC opinions but I get nerdy excited about lone dissents.

@warshington_dc Pursuant to Art 9 section 4 of the Utah Constitution, the Utah Supreme Court governs the practice of law. To change ABA affiliation requirements legislatively would require a constitutional amendment.

Good questions. All states need to remove @ABAesq’s accreditation monopoly. No activist group should be privileged in the eyes of the law.

The lowest hanging fruit in Utah higher ed finance is that the state ranks 49 out of 50 in FAFSA completion. Lots of Pell left on the table in a state that it would cover most if not all of in-state tuition.

Since the abortion ban passed in Utah, more than 12,000 abortions were committed.
