After four years of open borders under Joe Biden, millions entered this country illegally and are now anchored here through our broken immigration system. That is an abuse of our laws and an abuse of every American.

America is a nation. It is not a citizenship ATM for illegal aliens. It is not a piggy bank for fraudsters. It is not a welfare office for the world.

The American Dream belongs to Americans. And right now, it’s under threat. Home price growth increased 30% and rent growth 20% thanks to Democrats’ open borders. If Democrats take back power, this starts again. Day one, the border reopens. The migrants flood back in. The same finite housing stock gets squeezed by the same artificial demand. That young couple saving for their first home goes back to square one — except home prices are even higher and the window is even smaller. That’s exactly why I introduced the Homeownership Eligibility Reform Act. My bill helps fix what Biden broke, and makes sure it can never happen again. It restricts taxpayer-backed mortgages through FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac to U.S. citizens only, locked permanently into statute. An administrative action can be reversed on day one. A law cannot. The Democrats had their chance and they chose illegal aliens over American families. My bill is the firewall. The American Dream belongs to Americans. I’m fighting to keep it that way.

You don’t just cross the border, enter magic dirt, have a child, and make that child fully American. America is for Americans, and we’re going to keep it that way.

Somewhere in this country, a young American family is doing everything right. They got married. They saved. They worked overtime, cut expenses, and put money aside every month with one goal in mind: buying their first home and building something lasting for their kids. The average first-time homebuyer in America is now 40 years old, a record high. Home prices relative to income have nearly doubled since 1976. That young family playing by the rules is getting crushed, and Washington has spent years telling them it’s complicated. It’s not complicated. A new Federal Reserve study found that illegal immigration was responsible for 30% of home price growth and 20% of rent growth between 2021 and 2024. Biden flooded this country with millions of illegal aliens, every one of them competed for the same finite housing stock that young family was saving for, and Washington subsidized it the entire time with taxpayer-backed mortgage loans that were never meant for noncitizens. That family deserves better. My Homeownership Eligibility Reform Act restricts taxpayer-backed mortgages to U.S. citizens only, permanently. No future administration can reverse it with the stroke of a pen, and no young American family gets priced out of their dream because Washington decided illegal aliens come first. I’m fighting back.

250 years ago, our Founding Fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor— risking everything for liberty under God. That bold American spirit built the greatest nation in history. Today, as the radical Left tries to erase our heritage, open our borders, and fundamentally transform our country, I say, The American Dream belongs to Americans. In many ways, America today is a fundamentally different country than the one my parents and grandparents lived in. Mass migration, terrible economic policy, and cultural Leftism have made our country unrecognizable - and have eroded economic and social opportunities that past generations took for granted. It’s our job as conservatives to reinvigorate America so that younger generations and their progeny feel like the American dream is once again within reach.
