Denton Lord is the Padres’ 17th-round pick. Was teammates w/ 1st-rd RHP Coleman Borthwick. Sky-high potential here, I think this could be the steal of the draft. No wonder SD has a lot of likely under-slot picks prior

@dannybarrand_ I heard. I would imagine the Padres will try to sign him, but it's probably unlikely.

@Smqr1976 So I don’t know the money on Lynch/Lavey/Conover but I’d want to say they have about 2m left and 750k in overage. I’ve heard top preps want about 2m ish? Guys like Bowen intrigue me overall but I can’t see a way they have the money to do that

@Smqr1976 Oh they already have the bonus agreed to and I know the figure, just saying expect savers today. I probably wouldn’t have my hopes too high for one of the big preps left on the board or something like that.

Lynch is intriguing to me. Super low slot (4.9’ relH). Slider is sick (84-86, -1” iVB, -10” HB, ~2850 RPM). Sinker guy for the most part who can hit 99. Good spin feel

@Smqr1976 @CFahrenthold11 Probably needs to find a more true 4-Seam, lean into the cut and leverage the low release for more of an upshoot type thing. He will be okay with that I think. Maybe a bridge cutter too

@dannybarrand_ @CFahrenthold11 Pipeline seems to believe he’s a reliever, your take?

@fxalipranti_ It’s like 10°. He did throw a couple deadzone ish 4-Seams but the VAA helps

@dannybarrand_ I love that sinker movement. Does he throw a 4-seam or cutter? And do we have an arm angle on him? I imagine he could develop a decent 4-seam with how much he can spin the ball.

@freewave3 Should stick in center, 118 maxEV, quality bat speed and attack angle, tremendous feel to pull in air and launch in air in general. Good contact rates in conference play. Plays super hard. Just a tremendous mix of raw/game power and can hit
