After meeting with @sarcoma_uk, I raised a serious concern in the House of Commons on a recent HMRC decision to charge VAT on drugs provided for free through the Early Access programme. This has caused pharmaceutical companies to withdraw, putting future access at risk.

The asylum hotel system does not work for the people in them or the communities around them. 11 hotels have now closed including one in Hillingdon - progress is being made and I will keep pushing to make sure it happens as quickly as possible.

The Government says a third runway at Heathrow will be privately financed, but public sector costs such as pressure on the Elizabeth line and wider infrastructure must be accounted for. I called for full transparency on how the Government's four tests will be assessed.

Today's immigration statistics show the scale of change since Labour took office. Net migration down 82% to 171,000, asylum hotel use down by 35% and small boat arrivals down 41%. The numbers speak for themselves.

The Chancellor has announced a temporary VAT cut from 20% to 5% on children's entry to theme parks, zoos, museums, cinemas, soft play and theatres during the school holidays. Children's meals in restaurants and cafes are also included. Great news for families this summer!

Visited Uxbridge College to see how they have invested their share of the £4.6 million government funding. Great to see the improvements to the facilities. We also discussed expanding SEND provision and plans for a Youth Employment Hub in the borough. I'll keep you updated!

A lovely occasion at St Andrew's Church in Uxbridge to mark Middlesex Day. We raised the Middlesex flag and planted a tree to celebrate the church's recent Gold Award Eco Church status. The church was funded by the Fassnidge family in 1865 and is a cornerstone of our community.

Joined the local Barclays Manager and the Shopmobility team at the Chimes to see the Premier League and Barclays Women's Super League trophies on display in the heart of Uxbridge. Thank you to Barclays who were also out on the high street promoting fraud and scam awareness.

A really special visit to Glebe Primary School to celebrate the G-Force project, where Year 5 and 6 pupils have been breaking down stereotypes around dementia through creative workshops with Equal Arts. It's great to have work like this in our community!

Between 2019 and 2025, 104 children died with temporary accommodation indicated as a contributing factor. These figures are shocking and the system must change. Thank you to the Shared Health Foundation for this important report, scan the QR code to read the full report.
