Update: The operation two weeks ago was a success. The doctors now place me at stage 3. I have consulted with doctors in Hadassah and UCLA and it was decided that the next steps will be radiation for the next 7-8 weeks, and then chemotherapy, both here in Jerusalem. In the summer this would be followed by further bio specific treatments, perhaps using materials from UCLA.

Explosions in Iran. Action soon?

Update, Saturday January 31 2026: surgery a few days ago removed 75 percent of growth, on right side of brain. Will decide on how to treat remaining 25% later this week. I am back at home, waning off the steroids. All's well, nothing damaged so far.

Update. Surgery went well, I feel perfect, just a little dehydrated.

MRI was done yesterday, Monday. Today, Tuesday, 3-9pm Israel time (5-11am Pacific) the surgery will be done by Dr. Hyman. Stage 2/3 Oligodendroglioma removal. 75% of the tumor is on the right side of the brain and will be removed.

Update, 21 Jan 2026: I decided to have surgery in Hadassah next week. Likely Monday, 26 jan 2026, will check-in.

Given that my Oligodendrogolima is a slow-moving cancer, and that I feel fine, I decided to wait till I finish consulting with USA experts before moving ahead with a treatment plan. Had technical issues uploading my imagings to the USA system (Life-Images). Ths is unaccetable in 2026! So I am sending by DHL the full images CDs to the west-coast today, to UCLA and Stanford. Should arrive by Thursday, Jan. 22, so hopefully by the end of the month I would be able to consult with the experts and finalize a treatment plan. Talked today to a neuro oncologist here in Hadassah. I actually have stage 3, oligodendroglioma. They recommend surgery first, to remove close to 80 percent of the tumor, and then chimo and radiation. I will wait for a consultation with UCLA before deciding.

Just talked to the wonderful Dr. Hyman. Good news, the biopsy came back and the tumor is stage 2/3, not stage 4. Will now talk to neuro-oncologists, here and in UCLA.

Today will meet the surgeon in Hadassah. Meantime weather is crazy -- rainiest day in 12 years in Jerusalem.

Update: will meet the Hadassah surgeon on the 13th, Tuesday in 11 days, to discuss the biopsy. Unless there are very clear results earlier, in which case he will update.

Biopsy was done a few hours ago, results will be available in the next few days

I will be having my biopsy tomorrow, Wednesday. The diagnosis of a tumor is clear from the CT and MRI but the doctors want to be certain about details so they can tailor specific remedies. I am involving both UCLA and the local hospital in Jerusalem (Hadassa) in the treatment.
