Improving Florida’s options for the quality of our long-term care facilities is always top of mind for families in Southwest Florida. I had the privilege of meeting the lovely Sharron at Aviva Senior Living, and appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the resident experience & Florida Ombudsman Program.

To all those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day today, and getting in on a great day of fun, have a safe celebration filled with lots of luck, good friends, and a whole lot of green.

We made it to the end of our regular legislative session. We’ll be back in Tallahssee in a few weeks to finish our budget and deliver historic property tax reform. Until then, I’m looking g forward to getting back home to be in the community.

Two weeks left in our Legislative Session and we’re making this one a strong one, presenting vital protections on the House Floor for victims of domestic violence & abuse. These difficult conversations are always worth having. Floridians deserve justice & safety.

We have American men and women in harms way, and they represent the very best of our nation. Please join me in praying for the American troops deployed right now. May they be shielded from harm and guided in every decision. May their efforts help bring stability and peace to a region that has known too much turmoil.

Our focus sharpens heading into these final few weeks of Session with legislation heading to our large committees. Florida’s education is in good hands in Week #7 with special attention towards our students with disabilities, as well as support for student-athlete success & counseling services.

Tackling a lot of serious topics heading into Week #6. We’re fighting for better resources & protections for victims of domestic violence, we’re taking politics out of the workplace and our legislation providing fairer tax assessments is headed to the House Floor!

We have officially reached the half-way point of our Legislative Session here in Tallahassee. We’re pushing through to continue our hard work and deliver results.  This week, I met with students from Florida SouthWestern State College, the Family Initiative Incorporated, and kicked off important conversations about the upcoming budget! Big things are coming!

It’s amazing to think we are halfway through this Session. This week I am right back in Tallahassee working with my colleagues from across the state, presenting legislation to preserve quality living standards for Florida’s communities.

This was a big week to tackle issues inside and outside of the classroom. It’s such an honor to to serve our community. Watch till the end for a new update we’re bringing you to keep you in the know!

With a third of Session in the books, our mission remains the same as it did in Week 1: to fight for a better Florida. That means fighting for protected religious expression in our public schools, fighting for improved safety on college campuses, & supporting our medical professionals. Big week ahead!
