If you're under $2-3 million in revenue and spending more than $5,000 a month on your e-commerce team, you're lighting money on fire. Here's what you actually need: (And no, none of this includes offshore talent that have there rates marked up 3-4x) 1. Paid Social Expert ($2K/mo) This person should not only be media buying, but also managing the performance creative process and landing page buildouts. They should own the full paid social funnel. 2. CRM / Retention Marketer ($1.5K/mo) All things Email / SMS and Retention Marketing including strategy, copywriting, execution, and analytics. 3. Paid Search Marketer ($750/mo) It doesn't cost a lot to run PMAX or Shopping campaigns (maybe with some Branded search mixed in). Your setup costs might be a bit higher, but you really shouldn't be paying very much more than this to run Google ads on an ongoing basis. 4. Graphic Designer ($750/mo) This person should design your email templates, static ads, and any ad hoc needs for landing pages and/or website. *** You CAN be scrappy, hire the best, and get great results all at the same time. Stop lighting money on fire and hire your team in a lean, scrappy way.

@cb_doge I like the name X for the direction the platform is heading, but I really struggle to call a post here anything but a tweet.

Everyone should try the 'Fun Mode' for Grok Stories. It makes news so much fun.

I’d like to go on some podcasts this summer and brag about the B2B media company we are building at Exit Five.

Unsure if it's because it is hot as balls out, the impending election, or what...but everyone I speak to for work is soooooooooooo burnt out. We need a collective siesta. Shut it down for 6 weeks.

Did anyone watch Defending Jacob on AppleTV? I felt physically ill and anxious watching virtually the entire time. 10/10 recommend.

Blindly accepted a dinner invite for tomorrow night for a birthday dinner. Asked zero questions. Found out just now the dinner is outside. Supposed to 95 degrees tomorrow. Is Covid still an excuse we can use? If not, what else is acceptable?

@kaiarhodes I threw a private dinner for 25 last month. The first 5 restaurants I called didn’t call back. People are allergic to money it seems.

@jjesschan Think long, but act fast. Overthinking, I find, wads to paralysis by analysis. Acting fast is a cheat code, in my opinion.

IMO - The hustle & over-emphasis on speed/agility in entrepreneurship just leads to short-term decisions & reactivity. Long-term success comes from: 1. Thinking in years, not weeks 2. Balancing short, medium & long-term initiatives 3. Moving SMOOTH over moving FAST

Themed drinking after a certain age is sad. If you just accept you’re an alcoholic, you can sit on the couch in sweats and stop dressing up like Guy Fieri

Everyone seems to be trying to name something these days. Inbound led this Signal based that Near by Partner here PLG there Ai... everywhere It's a branding tactic designed to create thought leadership on a topic that's existed forever. Not a bad thing. Gets you to pay attention to different aspects of your growth funnel with refreshed perspectives. Remember Multiple priorities is an oxymoron. Run your race. Figure out what works for you. Once you do, LEAN IN Assume it will be 10x more effective than anything else Always run small tests for new growth levers. But, if they don't drive that 10x? Bail & test something new. PS. This isn't an original idea. I got it from a book called Traction. The author's probably got it from somewhere else. Our first 10x lever? LinkedIn Our second? PLG Our new lever? Outbound Our next lever? TBD (but testing a few things) Find yours & lean in

Men: what button down brands are you wearing that look good untucked? This shirt fits perfect but had to get it tailored to achieve the perfection. Women who shop for the men in their lives: what brands are YOU buying.
